READ ME! READ ME! READ ME! Are you reading me?

Are you reading me? It comes to my attention, not only in my comments, but also in other bloggers comments how much people really don't read entire posts, if any part of the post is read at all. We've all seen it, just a casual compliment of something in a photo/photo set, but no real interest in the post.
I for one take an interest in my fellow bloggers' posts. As the quote above reads "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one."; in a weird way you live vicariously through other people's posts.. (hope that doesn't sound creepy) As a blogger, I know the effort put into writing text posts, and seeing lackluster comments is a poopoo feeling.
Fishing for followers is how I look at it. I am guilty of linking back my blog through my comments, but I'm not guilty of skimming through the pictures of a post for a quick comment. I've literally seen comments on some posts that are complete opposite of what the entire post is even about.
So my lovelies, just a reminder for you to read! Be decent enough to do it, and if not don't fish for followers by pretending to care. If you've read this far comment MONKEY SLUT, yes I was obsessed with Misfits at one point in time, hence the reference. This will be my little tester... Fun stuff, fun stuff (;

  1. I completely agree! I've seen this a few times, I think even on one of your own posts?
Well, I loooove your blog, oh, and how could I forget? MONKAAY SLOOT. ;-)

  2. Hahaha MONKEY SLUT! I completely agree on this. I've had people comment on a mascara review and say "Oh, I love your top"... what?
I'm also guilty of linking my blog :( But I try to only put a link when I give my opinion on something, I'm never one to just be like "Hey, nice post (link)". Or if it's a really personal post and people link their blog - it's awful!
I am trying to stop the linking though, but sometimes it's just a habit haha xx

  3. Feel a bit mean but "i'll just go with it"... MONKEY SLUT!
(Hmm I feel like I need to watch Series 1 again, I miss Simon and Nathan)
I have to admit I have been guilty of just looking at the photos in a blog post and maybe not reading all the text, but I'm definitely not one of those people who comment "Nice post! Now follow me (insert 10 links)" Those people aren't proper readers :/

  4. Great post!! And I read the whole post! ;)
I know what you mean...unfortunately I've done that too...

caughtinvogue.blogspot.com. (and I link my blog always...but usually I do that because my readers may remember only my blog's name:))

  5. Yes I see this all the time. It was on your blog a few days ago that someone posted a comment completely irrelevant to your post. It really made me laugh. It is so easy to tell when a comment is genuine and when it was just skimmed, especially if it is followed by "would you like to follow each other?" -_-

On the other hand, sometimes I just get happy that someone actually visited my blog :P

    1. I think I know what post you're talking about, if so, that's what inspired this post!

  6. Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way, I don't want to be a hypocrite, because I do link myself back... and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.. getting your name out there isn't a bad thing, just don't do it so selfishly if that makes sense! At least do it to the posts you can relate to and enjoyed reading, otherwise you come off as kind of an opportunist. I don't want to offend anyone either... It was just an observation, but I am glad some of you guys could relate! MONKEY SLUT!!! lol..

  7. I think it's fair to say everyone receives those comments pretty frequently. Although I don't really mind. I understand that some people are just visual creatures, I guess I can be guilty of that myself. That's why I'm always hesitant to open up on my blog, I always wonder if anyone is listening! Oh, and about the follow me comments, I NEVER follow back! I would much rather have less yet interested readers than a ton of readers who never even engage.

    1. I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with basing your input on pictures... But every now and then you see those comments that are solely put to engage your interest for you to go to there blog, without a care to your original post. Fishing for followers I'd say!

  8. COMPLETELY agree with you, Dalia!! I'm just like you - I am interested in what my fellow bloggers have to say, especially if I'm following them. And if I'm not following them, I will read so I don't look dumb saying something completely off! It is disheartening when people just write random comments, just to comment, and to be honest, those are the ones I most likely aren't interested in following. Great post!!

Have an amazing day pretty girl!

  10. oh you took the words right out of my head. I do feel a bit disappointed sometimes when I put in a lot of work on my post only to have someone say something like "cute outfit" when clearly I have written a post about the outfit or what i did that day. I love your term "poopoo feeling". You are adorbs!
